Couples might be ready to say I do - but their wallets are not. Data from Stats NZ shows weddings could also be suffering from the economic downturn. Not only has the number of weddings decreased between 2022 and 2023, but couples that did tie the knot, did it on the cheap, choosing to go smaller.
