Philip Polkinghorne's wife was in the way of his life with his "intoxicating" mistress, according to the Crown lawyer who today delivered her closing remarks in the trial of the former eye surgeon. He is accused of murdering his wife Pauline Hanna in their Remuera home three years ago. However, the defence denies this and said Ms Hanna took her own life.
