2 year old hospitalised multiple times due to being in mouldy

Checkpoint - A podcast by RNZ - Fridays

A single mother says her two year old daughter got pneumonia and has been hospitalised multiple times after growing up in a mouldy home, which her landlord failed to maintain. The woman was awarded over $12,000 as part of a successful tenancy tribunal hearing. But she said her young daughter's health has been permanently affected, and she's in and out of hospital every few months. A New Zealand housing researcher said the tenants' situation is sad but not uncommon as New Zealand has internationally high levels of mouldy housing, especially in rental properties, Luka Forman has more.
