Steve Hindy has an unorthodox history for a beer baron: He started out as a Middle East Correspondent for the Associated Press in the early 1980s. There, he covered the hostage crisis in Iran and the Iran-Iraq War. He was kidnapped in Lebanon, and was seated behind Egyptian President Anwar Sadat when he was assassinated in 1981. Today Steve Hindy is the 12th largest exporter of American style craft beer. And on this episode of "Brooklyn Magazine: The Podcast," we'll find out how he got from point A to point beer.
