What is a BRCA gene mutation and how does it increase cancer risk?

In this episode I explain what a BRCA 1 and 2 gene mutation is and how it increases the risk of several types of cancer. BRCA gene mutations affect males as well as females, but there is little awareness in the community. BRCA 1 and 2 gene mutations are hereditary and if one parent has one, their children have a 50% chance of inheriting it. For a transcript of this episode go to Midlifestylist.com.
