BOBC: Ep42: Purple Rain

This week on Black on Black Cinema, the crew discusses the 1984 rock opera/musical/fictional biopic entitled, Purple Rain. A movie so squarely aimed at the fans of the singer Prince that is was a hit before it was ever released. The film portrays The Kid (Prince) as a narcissistic, arrogant, and highly talented singer who is striving to make it in the business. He meets a woman name Apollonia who is also working to make it in the music business. The two have a tumultuous back and forth "relationship" all the while struggling to succeed.
