Candidate Statement  My principal place of residence is in the Dunedin City Council area. I am also standing for Councillor.   9 years Council experience 50+ years Dunedin proud The current council has totally lost its way. Its idealistic approach to our local issues is not working. That's why I'm standing for Mayor and Council. Let's get back to making practical decisions. Why make it difficult for people to use their car when a better solution is not yet realistic? Why push people to use public transport when the options are so limited?   There is way too much central government interference in the Dunedin City Council. Local government representatives should be working for you, not central government. I want to put the power back in your hands.   Together we can: Help protect and grow our business community to ride the post COVID boom; Ensure council helps instead of hindering, building back trust and engagement; Rebuild Dunedin's profile as a fantastic place to visit, live and work.
