#BHN Simeon Brown's talking points | Arena Williams Twitter balls up | Luxon's battle for National

#BHN Big Hairy News - A podcast by Blindfish Media

After Simeon Brown said roads signs should be in English only as "we all speak English, they all should be in English" he today showed the talking points that National would use to try to walk back to dog whistle to a reasonable position. Problem is National's perception today on why he made the statements are not attached in any way to why yesterday he said he made the statements. It's obvious that this is a bad look for National and they are looking for a way to 'square that circle' and they think they may have found it. Labour MP Arena Williams embarrassed after a Tweet was fact checked by Twitter and seems to show, at the very least, an exaggeration about what she claims her father spends on prescriptions, as to what the reality is. NZ Herald Senior Writer Simon Wilson says that Christopher Luxon is battling for the entire future of the national Party. Simon says that that concept might seem a little weird but "National faces an existential threat this election. Not from Labour. The enemy is on the right: It’s Act and NZ First and the battleground is race." We'll look at this tonight.
