There is a lot of chatter on the internet at the moment about representation in film versus appropriation based around Bradley Cooper, playing Jewish composer Leonard Bernstein whilst not being Jewish himself. There are many people in society that would abhor playing a minority when the actor is not part of that community, but there was no issues with Bradley Cooper playing Bernstein.
