Christopher Luxon said today very clearly, almost too clearly, that he thinks anyone who is not on board with man-made climate change is not living in the 21st century. We acknowledge that we were asking this question yesterday and he has responded but still have nagging thoughts about what appears to be a very prepared answer hit several times to ensure the public is clear on his thoughts...so you believe him in his confession, or is this politicking where he's saying the right thing for the public. Paddy Gower went off on the AM Show this morning saying Luxon and National should "let Maureen be Maureen". It's both a bizarre rant and an astute observation all at the same time as Paddy seems to be saying Luxon should allow all those terrible views that he has within his party to roam free as people are entitled to their opinions. An advanced directive is a legal document by an individual of sound mind that gives them the choice and control over their care, which can include the right to refuse care to allow them to control how they die. This is in the news at the moment because Barbie Duffy had an advanced directive that should she be incapacitated she did not want her life to be extended medically. She wanted to refuse care in advance, in case she got to a point where she couldn't refuse due to be incapacitated. She had a stroke and was incapacitated but the medical team gave her medical help which sustained her life. Weeks later, when she could understand more, Barbie refused food and, in the end, fluids. She passed 58 days later, unmedicated until the last few days.
