Tory Lanez Vs Joyner Lucas | VERSUS | Before They Were Famous

Before They Were Famous - A podcast by Michael McCrudden

Tory Lanez was on Instagram Live, he’s feeling good, he’s been popping bottles of champagne, he and Drake aren’t beefing anymore, he just dropped a #1 hip-hop album on Billboard. And sometimes when you’re feeling yourself and you’re confident in your skill level, you might let some things fly off that you wouldn’t normally say. In this case, Tory told basically his followers that he would wash anyone in a rap battle toe to toe. Joyner’s name was mentioned and he said yup him too. He also mentioned that he could out rap Big Sean, Wale, Kendrick, and J. Cole. Basically how any rapper should feel, that they are the best in the game. Even Joyner appreciated the confidence but told Tory on his Instagram page that unless he wanted to actually rap, that he should stop talking. He challenged Tory to pick a beat and they would both rap over it and see who was better. Tory accepted and dropped a freestyle over Joyner and Eminem’s “Lucky You” Instrumental. Joyner replied within 24 hours over top of the “Litty instrumental,” a song Tory and Meek Mill dropped a couple of years ago, and then Tory replied right back with a freestyle over the same beat calling it “Litty Again.” Since then Joyner dropped a freestyle over Kodak’s “Zeze” and I wouldn’t be surprised if the two kept rapping back and forth at each other for the next 2 months, but seeing Tory laugh at the freestyle on Instagram live and call it a W seems to indicate the two might be done for a little while.
