He kicked off the year with the release of his debut mixtape Day 69 but he also found himself making headlines for getting into a physical altercation with a fan and the allegations made against him from his past about a past relationship with a girl who was underage. Despite the bad buzz Tekashi managed to stay on top dropping banger after banger. He dominated Billboard with hit after hit and solidified himself as a mainstream artist with collaborations from Murda Beatz and Nicki Minaj. After avoiding jail time 6ix9ine found himself under investigation by the FEDS and was sent away in the final months of the year. Yet, after some controversy, his album Dummy Boy still climbed to number 1 on Billboard.
