Lil Uzi Vert didn’t always have dreams of becoming a rapper. In fact, at first, he was just jealous of the attention his friend was getting at school for releasing a song. So Uzi picked up the pen in hopes of gaining some love but soon realized that creating music was a gift that he was given. His parents weren’t so fond of his new career choice though and kicked him out of the house. So with nowhere to stay and no money after quitting his job as a bag boy, he moved with his Grandma in her small nursing home, Uzi had nothing left but his dream. Over the course of the past half-decade, many artists have come and go. The SoundCloud era signaled a shift in hip-hop that brought in many new artists, new flows, new sounds, and new Lil's. But out of all those artists, Lil Uzi has arguably become the biggest. He was able to transcend his internet success, into true mainstream stardom, with his debut album “Luv Is Rage 2” going 2x platinum and songs like “XO Tour Life” going 7 times platinum. It’s safe to say that Uzi has become a full-blown rock star.
