Billy Bob Thornton who played the Bad Santa himself experienced his biggest films prior to Bad Santa but prefers to keep his life more on the down-low these days and is of social media. Lauren Graham, who played his chick Sue has probably been the busiest of them all, and clearly too busy to come back for the Bad Santa sequel in 2016. She continued as the main character on the hit show Gilmore Girls & the reboot, as well as two other long-running Hollywood TV roles. But what happened to the rest of the cast? Unfortunately, John Ritter wasn’t the only star to pass away including Bernie Mac. Bad Santa was released on November 26th, 2003 later in the same month that the movie Elf came out – which we also did a video on. It was directed by Terry Zwigoff and is considered a “dark comedy” film – which isn’t usually the genre that Christmas movies aim for.For those of you who haven’t seen the movie, Bad Santa focuses on Willie T Stokes played by Billie Bob Thornton who’s basically a crazy, depressed alcoholic. Every year at Christmas, Willie and his sidekick Marcus, played by Tony Cox get together to pull off a Holiday Con.They pose as Santa and his elf and work at shopping malls, only to scam them on Christmas Eve. In the movie, Willie ends up meeting a boy who tests his “nice” side – or whatever’s left of it.
