This week’s guest is one of the UK’s original hair bloggers and award-winning wig maker, Gina Knight – you might know her as Gina The Wig Witch, and if you’ve been on the internet for a while, you might have known her as Naturalbelle. Based in Reading, UK, Gina has been blogging since 2008 and launched her wig design company in 2016 as a way to support her love for creating content built on community. I've met Gina in real life; she has the most amazing smile, is quick to laugh but will always keep it very real. She's also very open with her experiences, from growing up with white parents, to motherhood to accepting and embracing hair loss. Believe me there are so many things I want to talk with Gina about, and we'll get to that, but for this episode we're specifically focusing on the future of content. It all started with a conversation in the DMs that started with a British Beauty Council webinar held in partnership with Meta (owner of Facebook, WhatsApp etc).  The webinar focused on how businesses could use influencers in the future, and often the subject of virtual influencers came up. For Gina and a few others who came into my DMs that morning, some of the subject matter felt disconcerting and disheartening. So I invited Gina on for a chat and this what happened! Let me know what you think; if you're listening on Spotify I've posted a poll for you to get involved in. Or you can DM me while you're listening @beautymepodcast or feel free to email [email protected]. Thanks for listening and if you enjoyed this episode please give it a rating or review!
