Since the first novel was published in 1965, Dune has captured the hearts and imaginations of fans the world over. There have been a few visual adaptations of Frank Herbert‘s work - from the 1984 movie to the 2000 miniseries - and with the release of the 2021 movie, we take a chance to talk about the story and how it‘s been told over time. Guest host and resident Dune expert, Jason, helps guide us primarily through the two movies, their differences between each other and the books, and in this extra long episode we have conversations about storytelling, casting, music, and characters. We talk about some things that don‘t work so well for us along with things that work perfectly, as well as what we might be seeing in the second Dune movie set to release in 2023.
