Essential Perrin

With the TV series upon us, we decided to take a stab at streamlining the series, starting with The Gleeman's favorite character, Lord Goldeneyes himself, Perrin Aybara. Given that the story is ultimately about the Dragon Reborn and his fight against the Dark One, what parts of Perrin's story are extraneous? What can we cut, merge together, or twist around to fit as much of the "essential Perrin" into the show as we can, without going off on tangents that take books to resolve?!
