Casino Royale

We are back this week for our discussion on 2006's Casino Royale. This is the film that brought me to Bond permanently. Daniel Craig was just a powerhouse. He brought a little bit of Sir Sean with him for the ride. You can feel 007's heritage in his performance, while making the role seemingly entirely his own as well. He is a wrecking ball in this film, while still bringing on the charm and sophistication to the role, something every Bond needs. And alongside him, Vesper, one of the best Bond Women we've ever seen. Intelligent, witty, and with a side of deception. One of the more in-depth Bond Women characters we've ever seen. We meet playful and mischievous Rene Mathis, who is right up there with Kerim Bey as far as sidekicks go. Equally as charming and humorous. We are introduced to Le Chiffre, who is menacing in his coolness. And of course, we are also introduced to the coolest Felix Leiter of all the Felixes in Jeffery Wright. This is in my mind the best of the best when it comes to 007.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jb-pod1/message
