Former NZ PM Helen Clark on gender stereotypes in politics

Julia is joined by Helen Clark, the 37th Prime Minister of New Zealand and the second woman to ever hold the position. Since stepping away from frontline politics in 2008, Helen has continued her vital work on the world stage, most notably as the first female head of the United Nations Development Programme and as co-chair of the independent panel set up by the WHO to learn lessons from the coronavirus outbreak.  She and Julia discuss the impact of the pandemic, the damaging effects of gender stereotypes on female politicians, and why having women in office is so important to inspire the next generation of female leaders.
