Erdem Fondly Looks Back & Moves Boldly Forward

Prior to 2021’s 15th anniversary of Erdem Moralioğlu’s namesake brand, the award-winning London designer looks back on his fashion career. Erdem - who is famed for dressing Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Keira Knightley, Madonna and Lucy Boynton - traces the heritage of his signature floral print to his childhood in suburban Montreal and explains how Canadian Multiculturalism so positively shaped his worldview. He reveals formative moments of his grad school education at the Royal College of Art and his rise to fame, among a legion of East End upstarts who established London as a bonafide fashion capital in the 2010s. Erdem also discusses the influence of Susan Sontag’s novel, The Volcano Lover, on his critically acclaimed spring/summer 2021 collection and the film he produced in the ancient British woodland, Epping Forest, to debut it.
