Just two years before winning the Joe McDonagh Cup final, Antrim Hurler Domhnall Nugent had been on the streets battling an addiction to alcohol.Domhnall was just 20 years old and living out of a rucksack, having spent every penny he had on the addiction that had brought him to rock bottom, where he was left to feel that his life was no longer worth living. After realising the devastation that his addiction was causing to his loved ones, Domhnall decided to turn his life around and checked himself into a rehab facility.Life came full circle when he began a new role as an addiction facilitator at Cuan Mhuire, three years after walking through those same doors at his lowest ebb.
